Staying sane in a constricted place during Lock-down

Wow when did our "lock up and go" 30m square apartment in Barcelona become a "locked in and stay"?

Well I never thought this is what it would get to - 15 days does not sound bad but for me - the one who gets itchy feet and needs adrenaline - this is going to be challenging. There are 5 things which will separate me from insanity and unfortunately it is not to sneak out in the middle of the night, wearing dark colours to go for a run, as they will be patrolling the streets then too.

“Oh and I did try a cycle before sunrise and got caught and was sent back indoors.”

  1. Staying in touch on technology – staying in contact to stave off the isolation. What we do without WhatsApp and people who care. If people only understood how much that little gesture of reaching out counts at a time like this.

  2. Staying fit with technology- I have always leaned towards watching my amazing friends attend CrossFit and exceptional Yoga bunnies - yes Alisha! while I preferred to tie up my laces and go for a run or climb on my bike. Possibly driven out of laziness or lack of understanding around the actual benefits. Well today with technology I am now jumping online to learn core strength, cardio and stretching exercises that I can not only do inside but in an extremely constricted amount of space. I can’t deny it - I quite enjoy this and I am looking forward to continuing when on-board GypsyDjango. I have downloaded the NikeTraining app and I am more than impressed (on IOS and Google Play). #niketraining

  3. Staying up to date on current affairs with this crisis and the impact on our current environment in Spain and in South Africa affecting our loved ones. I am using the time that I was using for marketing of our nomad travel life to consuming other's blogs to remain motivated and positive.

  4. Distracting my mind with Reading; I find when things are worse at night and my mind wants to explode that reading about other people’s lives be it autobiographies or historical novels distracts my mind before bed.

Reality Check

Food!!! Well isn’t this a difficult one?. Would love the excuse to comfort eat but that isn’t going to happen with food rationing. We have enough food to last us another 4/5 days before we need to draw straws to see who ventures out - but what happens when the chocolate runs out?!?
