When you move to an unknown country - that's exactly what you get - the unknown.
I wrote about moving to a country and the shock of doing this while home was calling from every corner on every street. But it's not fair to compare a new country to the one you know so well and love so dearly without immersing your life into the unknown with all you have.
Cape Town City Girl
“Being a city girl in Cape Town is more like being an outdoor person sleeping close to a city. Moving to Barcelona was an introduction to living in a real city. And the need to survive and the quest to find the nature of the outdoors began..”
So we hired a camper van to find the beauty of Spain outside the noise of the city for a brave length of 10 days. Firstly getting a camper van up Las Ramblas was an adventure in itself. Packing our bicycles and winter gear we began our journey to explore the Pyrenees in winter. I cannot begin to describe the beauty of the landscape in which we found ourselves. Spain thank you, what a truly magnificent country you are, you have so far exceeded my expectations and fed my soul. Waking up in the morning to the sight and smell of nature in a mountain with no other person close for many kilometres was beyond anything I could have imagined doing back home.
Reality Check
This surreal experience brought me back to why we are on this path and why no matter how much home calls and the heart longs, there is a positive outcome and thank you Beautiful Spain for enabling me to see this.
9 Days Adventure
“-4 Degrees???.”
9 days in and waking up in -4 degrees I knew it was time to head back to what I call my new home and arriving back to the beautiful city of Barcelona, if a little noisy it was exactly what I needed. It made me realize that home is not an address but somewhere you feel settled.
GypsyDjango - A Cat on an Ocean
I am so looking forward to climbing on GypsyDjango in Croatia and making this my new home, the one where I belong and wherever she takes me.
